Friday, November 17, 2006Emmy Nomination
Tonight the Mid-South Emmy nominations were announced and I have received a nomination for my promo, "The Mayberry Code".
This is my third Emmy nomination out of three times entering. I won an Emmy Award for a previous promo campaign entitled "Mayberry Mysteries".123 It should be obvious that my current nomination and my previous win both relied on pop-culture parody to promote The Andy Griffith Show. Well so did that third nomination too. Can you say typecast? The winners will be announced on January 27th, 2007 in Nashville, Tennessee. Labels: awards

Friday, November 16, 2001Another Emmy Nomination
Emmy nominations just came out. I was nominated in the category of Promotional Campaign. Last year I also received a nomination (Promo Non-News) but did not win. Congrats to everyone else at WSOC and WAXN who were nominated too.

Friday, June 15, 2001National Addy Award
This Wednesday a series of promos that I produced won a national Addy Award! :) This campaign had won the local Addy and then a regional Addy, which made it eligible for the national level. I'm told that this is the biggest award in the Advertising profession (tv, radio, print, internet), and that no local station from Charlotte has ever won this award before.

Saturday, February 03, 2001Wisdom Teeth and Awards Banquets
Yesterday was very busy. First thing in the morning, Patty went in for oral surgery to have all four of her wisdom teeth extracted. The surgery took only 20 minutes, but the medication stayed with Patty for most of the day. Everything went fine and Patty is just a bit sore.
In the evening I went to the Charlotte Ad Club awards presentation. I won an Addy Award in the category of Television: Self-Promotion: Campaign. This was the first award for my newest Andy Griffith promos, entitled "Mayberry Mysteries". I promise I will eventually finish the video portion of this website so you can see one of these promos.
Thursday, January 25, 2001Mayberry Awards
I learned today that my "Mayberry Mysteries" campaign won (at least) a Citation of Excellence from the Charlotte Ad Club. I said "at least" because it can win a full Addy Award. The awards will be announced on Friday, February 1st. Don't forget that I was nominated for an Emmy for my "Fife Club" promo. Those awards are announced this Saturday night at 9pm EST.
Both of these spots, along with a few others, will soon be available for viewing on our website. I just need the time to create and upload those pages. Labels: awards
