Guitar Hero
Here's a short video of Maegan practicing her electric guitar by playing Jingle Bells.

Monday, February 05, 2007Thursday, February 01, 2007Piano Man I'm a huge Billy Joel fan so I'm glad that Joel will be performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl this Sunday. However I was quite surprised to read today that he will soon be releasing a new pop single. After 1993's album River of Dreams, Joel said he was getting out of pop-music forever to work on his classical work. "All My Life" is a love song he wrote for his new wife, Katie Lee. It will be released on People magazine's website on February 7th.edit: I've now heard his new song. Very disappointing, plus it doesn't even resemble a pop-song (unless you traveled back to the time of Frank Sinatra's prime). Labels: music
Friday, December 08, 2006For Those About To Rock... We Salute YouIt may look like a toy in this photo but this is a real, quality electric guitar designed especially for girls. It rocks and Maegan can't wait to learn how to jam with it.

I know I'm behind the times but I just stumbled upon this video posted on somebody's blog. Apparently it's been popular around the internet for the past six weeks. Very impressive and original choreography. Given the poor production quality of this video I originally thought this was just some stupid human trick, but this is a real music video by a band I've never heard of called OK Go. Well their idea to spread their music through an interesting viral video worked on me because other than the fact that I enjoyed the video, I also like the music and I may see what else they've got.
This video also remindes me of another viral video I like which featured "dancing": Where The Hell Is Matt.
Thursday, December 08, 2005U2 Concert
The local classic rock radio station in Charlotte, WRFX, had a contest for tickets to the sold out U2 concert. The 10th caller after they start a 2nd consecutive U2 song (a "U2 2-fer") wins. I had my coat on and was about to turn off my office radio when I heard the first U2 song, so I decided to wait a few more minutes and call in. Lucky I did because I was caller #10.
Patty heard me on the radio and said that I didn't sound excited enough, but U2 is one of only two concerts I would ever want to go to! (The other concert I would want to go to is Billy Joel.) Labels: music
